Overview
The management of institutional assets has never been more
challenging. Today’s complex financial markets present
critical decisions — and opportunities. And the spotlight on
fiduciaries has never shined brighter. Coping with these
challenges requires knowledge and experience, deliberate
planning and rigorous discipline.
For nearly a quarter century, the Olcott Consulting Group
(OCG) has helped institutional clients achieve their goals
by providing objective, relevant and proactive information
and advice. Our founder, Managing Partner Rob Olcott has been nationally recognized by Barron’s Magazine(1) and Registered Rep(2) for his experience within the investment community. As trusted
advisors to our clients, the OCG is committed to adding
valuable insight to each client’s investment program through
a broad range of consulting services. These services are
designed to assist at every stage of the investment process,
from policy to implementation to ongoing monitoring.
To further enhance our services, we focus on serving a narrow
group of clients: fiduciaries who oversee investment programs
for non profit organizations, sponsors of retirement
and pension plans and family offices. To maintain long-term
relationships with clients, we offer a set of services designed to
help each organization achieve its specific goals and objectives,
and to help fiduciaries fulfill the responsibilities they
have to their various constituencies. After all, safeguarding
the financial health of your organization is one of the most
important responsibilities you face.
Some may consider investment consulting a generic service.
We take a different view. At the Olcott Consulting Group
we believe in the notion of value added. And to us, value
added is not simply doing our job capably; rather it is striving
to identify and provide the unexpected.
(1) Barron’s Magazine named Rob Olcott to their 2009 list of Top 1000 Advisors. The number of advisors shown for each state is based on the total population of the state, so larger states have larger lists. The rankings reflect assets under management, revenues, qualify of the advisors’ practices and other factors. Total assets are all assets overseen by the advisor’s team, including some that are held at other institutions. Assets managed for institutions are given less weight in the scoring. Portfolio performance is not a criterion because most advisors do not have audited track records. Criteria was based on more than 3000 filtered nominations from more than 100 investment, insurance, banking and other related independent financial service firms.
(2)Rob Olcott named on e of the nation’s “Outstanding Brokers” by Registered Rep. The criteria for this recognition was based on: 1) Superior performance in money management, client service, business building and philanthropic activities; and 2) Acknowledged peer recognition and respect.
